Introduction <br />Park County is applying for a Construction Materials Regular 112 Operation Reclamation <br />Permit for sand and gravel mining on County mined property with a combined area of <br />15.2 acres, located in Park County near Fairplay, CO. This property is called Ansley Pit <br />#2. <br />Park County plans to extract sand and gravel from the property, process it on site and use <br />the material for our gravel roads. Life of the Ansley Pit #2 is estimated to be 10 years. <br />Storm Water Management process will be established rock and sand base and backfill <br />with recovered materials to establish grading for drainage. <br />Park County proposes to actively mine the additional 6.2 acres. The plant area will be <br />processing road base with a power screen, dozer and wheel loader. The processed <br />materials will be stock piled outside the active mined area until needed. Completion of <br />the mining, reclamation of the Ansley Pit will begin. <br />Exhibit A-Legal Description <br />The site, Ansley Pit #2 M-1995-027, is located within Section 11 and 14, Township l OS, <br />Range 77, W. Prime Meridan. The property is comprised of two pits, Ansley Pit #1 and <br />Ansley Pit #2, which is listed in Park County's Clerk and Recorder's office. <br />Exhibit D-Mining Plan <br />Introduction <br />The proposed Ansley Pit #2 is a sand and gravel extraction operation, located <br />approximately 2.5 miles SE of Fairplay in Park County, CO. Park County is the land <br />owner. Total mineable acreage is estimated at 15.2 acres. Topsoil and overburden will be <br />placed around the effected mining area. <br />Park County plans to extract sand and gravel from the property, process it on site and use <br />material for gravel roads. Blasting will not be necessary to recover the materials on site. <br />Life expediency of the mine is approximately 10 years. <br />Mining Methods <br />Initial operation will include topsoil and overburden stripping. As areas are cleared and <br />stripped, previously mined areas will receive backfill material to establish permanent <br />design of side slopes. Park County may also leave some material in place for the purpose <br />of establishing final side slope grades.
