Rimrock Exploration & Development, Inc.
J-Bird Uranium Mine/ DMO/ EPP
Facilities Evaluation
7.0 FACILITIES EVALUATION
As summarized in previous sections, there will be minimal amounts of chemicals and
petroleum products; many of which are `containerized' and managed through existing
stormwater and spill prevention methods. The J-Bird surface deposition materials (waste
rock and ore) were sampled and analyzed. Results indicate these materials contain little
to no ability to generate acid, and would not leach hazardous constituents other than
enriched radio-nuclides, which occur naturally. In order to isolate these from creating a
hazardous setting, the surface deposition material will be actively managed.
Additionally, stormwater will be diverted by employing run-on diversions in order to
prohibit significant contact. In the absence of water contact, there will be no hazard
associated with the deposition materials. Any question regarding passive irradiation as a
result of having these materials at the surface, will be addressed as part of the ongoing
Radiation Monitoring Plan (Attachment H) which was designed to meet BLM monitoring
requirements.
13
