Inc. <br />Shift: Day/Night <br />Work Element: Phase 5 CQA/ LOB <br />Date: May 16, 2009 <br />Reporting Period: 05/10/09 through 05/16/09 <br />Days S M T W IT F S <br />Work Shifts D D D D D <br /> - N N EN N - - <br />D = Day Shift N = Night Shift <br />Ambient Temperature Range: Lows: 31 °F to 36°F (+/-) Highs 50°F to 65°F (+/-) <br />AMEC CQA Personnel On-site through the Reporting Period (See Attachment A). <br />AMES: No weather delays during the week. <br />CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES AND PROGRESS: <br />I) EARTHWORK <br />A) Overburden to Stockpile <br />1) LOB Delivery Road <br />Overburden excavation continued through the week between stations 23+00 (+/-) and 29+00 <br />(+/-) and stations 1+00 (+/-) and 5+00 (+/-). Unsuitable material was transported to the Joe <br />Dandy Main Cresson backfill using Cat 777, and 40-Ton articulating haul trucks. A Komatsu <br />800 excavator and a CAT 875 track excavator loaded the haulage equipment, aided by a Cat D- <br />10 dozer and D-9 dozer. (Double shift work) <br />Rockbreakers drilled and blasted the LOB Delivery Road cut between stations 23+00 (+/-) to <br />29+00 (+/-) and stations 1+00 (+/-) to 5+00 (+/-). Drilling and blasting was performed the full <br />width of the road and slope throughout the week. Rockbreakers used between two and five <br />Tamrock track mounted drill rigs. (Double shift work) <br />B) Cut to Fill <br />1) LOB Delivery Road <br />Oversize material was placed beyond the end of the LOB Delivery Road. (Double shift work) <br />Additional fill was placed from stations 15+00 (+/-) to 22+00 (+/-) for finish grading using one <br />CAT D-6 and one CAT 14G grader to spread the fill. Lift thickness varied from three tenths to <br />six tenths of a foot. Moisture conditioning was performed using a CAT 773-water truck. <br />Compaction of the fill material was performed using a CAT 563 vibratory smooth drum roller <br />Sheet 1 of 8 <br />LOB Weekly Report WE 05.16.09.D.doc
