The annual report requirements in the MLRB Rules and
Regulations, and the annual review letter are addressed in
the following report. Please refer to the 2009 ANNUAL REPORT
MAPsubmitted with this text for the locations of the areas
discussed.
(1) Mining continued on area previously disturbed on the
west side of the mine. Approximately 3.02 acres was
mined in 2008-2009 (purple). The topsoil is stockpiled
in the areas shown on the map (yellow). Between June
1, 2009 and August 1, 2009 we imported approximately
2,300 yds of topsoil. We estimate there is 11,600 cy
stored on the mine in various locations. At the
current time we have 26.05 acres ± disturbed in the
pit (cross-hatched). Of the total area disturbed at
this time 20.42 acres ± is floor area that will become
a graded parking area when reclamation is complete
(brown & purple); and 0.98 acres ± is partially
reclaimed; and 2.21 acres is topsoil stockpile areas
(yellow). The remaining 4.38 acres is stripped ready
for mining. No mining has taken place in the
amendment area. There is adequate soil stockpiled on
the site to resoil the disturbed areas to the
prescribed depth. The southern topsoil piles have an
adequate vegetation cover to prevent erosion and the
new piles will be seeded if they remain undisturbed
for more that a year.
(2) No reclamation was required during this year. Grading
and shaping is complete on 0.98 acres on the northeast
slope (green). Seeding will take place once we have 5
acres or more that needs seeding. Floor grading will
continue on areas not needed by the mine operator for
plant site and material stockpiles. We are using the
concrete structures left for material storage.
(3) Mining will continue on the west side of the Plant
Site and work west towards the permit line until that
area is day lighted out. Groundwater monitoring will
continue as required in the permit.
(4) We will continue to mine the original permit area
until it is complete and we continue to collect ground
water level samples as required in the 2007 Technical
Revision.
