• PB-2: Permit boundaries inadequately marked.
The survey boundaries will be put back in as soon as possible and when we are
satisfied that the surveyor we find to do so is half as competent as Matt Collins,
an engineer. Again, these markers were in place recently, and due to natural
and likely human interference, may not now be present. Many of these markers
are still in place and MRV is currently re-locating others.
Further comments to the observations section of Inspection Report 3:
We agree that no mining or reclamation work is occurring at the site although
environmental monitoring, general maintenance and caretaking are.
We also note the requirement for a temporary cessation filing. This has been
done with MSHA as of July 17, 2009 when we requested a change from "non-
producing" to "abandoned" status. MRV also changed insurance coverage as of
this July 17`h date, to reflect a decrease in activity. If activities do not resume,
MRV will file the appropriate notices with DMRS as per rule 1.13 of the
Mineral Rules and Regulations.
MRV is also unclear as to the significance of plumbing connector locations as
• related to historic mine workings and/or surface features. These connectors
typically occur at the end of a length of pipe irrespective of where that may be
on a hillside or anywhere else.
Please also note the included discussion regarding the location of the MRV
Escape Raise (termed "shaft" in the DRMS inspection report). This feature is
within the permitted disturbance boundary.
is
