PB-3-4 The only water that I know of that has been pumped to the Who Do Mine was in
the 1980's by Mark Steen. Unaware of the regulatory compliance of the issue, I
helped him with this as well as the discharging of mine water. These issues
were addressed during the contentious 1990's operations. Some of these
hoses/pipes are still there and are the hoses I alluded to above in 3-3. MRV will
continue, as it has for several years now, to clean up this type of debris on the
hillside.
To the best of my knowledge Mount Royale Ventures, LLC has not pumped
water to the Who Do Mine.
The Cash Mine has historically needed to be pumped periodically to maintain a
water level below the 3`d level shaft station. This season has been inordinately
wet and I personally pumped the water to the mill pond for evaporation in July
2009, as described above, further testing the recharge rate for the underground
inflow. It is also conceivable that water could drain from the portal if it were
allowed to rise five (5) or more feet about the 3`d level shaft station. It is
MRV's understanding that this is precisely why the bonding and reclamation
plan for the permit requires a hydraulic seal.
PB-3-5 The culvert which protrudes from the Who Do collar level dump has been there
for as long as I can remember and in very wet springs often drains as seen
• recently. MRV understands, without any assistance from Steen or excavation to
determine otherwise, that the culvert drains storm water from behind the Who
Do shaft and the dump area at the shaft collar. If Steen has knowledge
otherwise, this would be news to MRV and would be a direct contradiction to
his obligation to disclose such information under the JV contract (see above).
•
