6.4.4 - Exhibit D, Mining Plan, Maps C-2 and C-3
(a) (b) (c) (d) (e)? (f) (g) (h) and (i) appear to be answered in the Mine Plan
narration. Please clarify the following:
1) Please commit to a minimum of two feet of cover over any exposed
groundwater or Mancos Shale.
2) When will visual berms be constructed and what is the vegetation plan?
3) What is the anticipated direction of excavation for both Phase 1 and 2?
4) The application form does not note an asphalt plant as part of the on-site
processing. The area must be designed to prevent stormwater retention as
percolation could affect ground water quality.
S) While the entire SPCC plan is not required for the application please
Provide secondary containment details for the fuel tanks noted.
6) How will buffer zone for final 3:1 slope mining be marked?
7) Please note on mine plan map C-2 and Reclamation Map F where the
collector ditch will be constructed and clearly identify the primary retention
area.
6.4.5 - Exhibit E, Reclamation Plan
(1) Addressed through Reclamation Narrative
(2) (a) Please clarify the depth of gravel to be placed on pit floor initially and
when that will occur in the mining, reclamation process.
(b) addressed
(c) Rule 3
(d) addressed
(e) addressed
(f) addressed,
Rule 3.1:
3.1.1: County Industrial Yard
3.1.2 is not applicable.
3.1.3: Addressed
3.1.4 is not applicable.
3.1.5: Reclamation Measures
(1) addressed, 3:J final slopes
(2) addressed, no backfilling final slopes mined to 3:1
(3) addressed
(4) addressed
(5) Please note requirements if asphalt plant is to be used.
(6) not applicable
(7) addressed, slopes will be 3:1
(8) not applicable
(9) not applicable
