III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br /> Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during <br /> the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br /> facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br /> This was a partial inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and <br /> Safety. Ground conditions on this day were dry and the weather was clear and warm. <br /> Hydrologic Balance <br /> A well casing was noted in the Carbon Junction drainage channel upstream of the reclaimed North Pit <br /> area and is shown below. The casing has been damaged by gunfire but the well did seem to contain <br /> water a few feet below the ground surface. Repairs may be in order for this well. If the well is part of <br /> the hydrologic monitoring program for the mine, it is recommended that it be labeled for proper <br /> identification. <br /> r <br /> tr. <br /> y.yk <br /> r aai>� <br /> 3 <br />
