PROJECT PHASING
Once the existing Spring Creek Pit is played out, mining of the expansion sites will
occur. The expansion sites will be mined in five distinct phases, beginning with the
southeastern portion of the Million Property. The processing and staging area for each
phase will be located in the previously mined phase. For example, the processing and
staging area for Phase I will be located in the northeastern portion of the existing Spring
Creek Pit. The processing and staging area for Phase II will be located in Phase I and so
forth. Haul roads and wash ponds will be relocated with each phase of work. As each
phase is no longer used for processing and staging, reclamation will begin.
RECLAMATION PLAN
Each phase will be farmed until it is ready to be mined. Once each phase is no longer
needed for processing and staging, the berm will be flattened and the stockpiled
overburden will be used to create a 3:1 slope. Topsoil will be replaced and native trees,
shrubs and grasses will be planted along the perimeter of the site to prevent erosion. The
mined area will be reestablished as rangeland. Reclamation of each phase is expected to
take approximately one to three years.
EQUIPMENT
• Fuel Station - 7000-gallon, skid mounted, diesel tank with secondary containment
• Scrapers - sporadic use, approximately 1 month per year
• Dozers - sporadic use during reclamation
• Wash Plant - relocated with each phase
• Portable Crushing Units Equipped with Dust Suppression Equipment - relocated
with each phase
• Gradation Screen/Conveyor - size screening
• Portable Water & Sewer System - Port-A-Potty
• Double-Wide Modular Office
• 6-yard Loader - equipped with sonar backup alarm
• 8-yard Loader - equipped with sonar backup alarm
• Stackers
• Dumpster - solid waste management
• Trucks - anticipated average of 17 vehicle trips per hour, may vary depending on
market
SITE IMPROVEMENTS
• Five foot berm around new expansion sites, reseeded for visual impact
• Haul Road - magchloride will be applied to haul roads for dust control
