Climate Description
The climate at the Pierce North site is classified as semi-arid. Summers are characterized by with daily high temperatures
of over 90 degrees Fahrenheit dropping to 50 degrees Fahrenheit at night. Winters are characterized by daytime
temperatures near the freezing point, nighttime temperatures are typically 10 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Annual
precipitation is approximately 12 to 14 inches, with summer precipitation coming from localized convection cell
thunderstorms. Winter precipitation comes in the form of snow and rain.
