EXHIBIT H - Wildlife Information
Wildlife
The North Pierce site is currently dry-land farmed, typically for winter wheat. The 160 acre site has been cultivated
with annual furrow plowing. There are no trees present on the site to offer roost or nesting sites for birds.
a) There are no significant wildlife resources present on the site. Some pheasants have been
sighted in the area along the County Road.
b) The site is utilized as cultivated agricultural land, plowed in mid-summer and planted in
winter wheat typically in mid-August. Winter wheat starts growing in the following spring
and is harvested in July.
C) Thee are no threatened or endangered species on the Pierce North site.
d) There are no significant wildlife resources in the Pierce North area; the proposed
intermittent mining and grael processing activities are not anticipated to have any wildlife
impacts. Noise from mining and processing activities will be minimal since the pit and
processing will be below existing grade.
MADAVE B\Pierce North\DMG permiffxhibits-Revl.doc 8/21/2009
