f) The pit will be accessed from Co. Rd. 61 and Co. Rd 16. No new roads will
be built to access the permit area. There will be temporary haul roads inside
the pit area, but they will be removed as reclamation occurs.
g) There will be no shop, plant, or other facilities permanently located at the
mine site. Equipment will be maintained at the site when mining is occurring.
This will be on a periodic basis since material will only be mined on an as
need basis. The equipment used to mine the gravel will be primarily a
scraper, dozer, front-end loader, and trucks. Fuel and equipment will be
outside of the pit area on the permitted acres. Equipment will be serviced out
of the mining area. Re-fueling of equipment will occur on site.
h) No water will be used in conjunction with the operation. There could be
instances when heavy rainfall makes the site too muddy to continue. At those
times, mining will simply cease until the site becomes dry enough to mine
again. Mining will not go into the groundwater at the site.
i) The material to be mined will be used for road construction.
i) The material contains road worthy gravel. Based on information from the
landowner, we feel there will be usable material up to 35 feet deep. The
overburden is approximately two feet in depth.
ii) The material immediately below the area mined has a primarily clay nature.
j) The materials to be removed from this pit include gravel and gravel with clay.
All material is intended to be used for road construction.
k) We will use a 225' setback from Co. Rd. 61 and the residence on the west side
of the property and 225' from Co. Rd. 16 to the north. To the east and south
sides of the dined area there will be a 25' setback. The setback areas will be
used as an unimproved track for inspection and maintenance on equipment.
1) Dust control measures will be utilized, as necessary, on Co. Rd. 61 and
internal pit roads. Dust control will be exercised in front of the Dorthy
Hubbard farmstead and the Randy and Darlene Weis farmstead. Either mag
chloride or water will be used for dust control. Water, when used, will be
purchased from commercial wells in the area as available. Care will be taken
to control dust in the pit area.
