EXHIBIT D - Mining Plan
a) Mining will utilize the following operations:
i) Use of scraper to remove and stockpile existing top soil
ii) Utilize scraper to remove and stockpile any overburden
iii) Utilize dozer to push up gravel
iv) Utilize a frontend loader to load material onto trucks.
b) The site will be mined to approximately 35 feet deep. Mining will be done on
a 2:1 slope down to the bottom of the pit area. Topsoil ranges from 5" in
depth to 10" in depth at the southeast corner. The topsoil will be stripped,
stockpiled, and utilized when the pit is reclaimed.
c) There are no anticipated water diversions or impoundments. There is no
surface water at the site. When rainfall occurs, the pit area may be
unworkable for a few days. Since the use of the pit is intermittent, we will be
able to work around those occurrences.
d) Our intent is to work approximately 10 acres during each of the four mining
phases.
e) The mining plan is to begin on the east side at the north end of the pit. We
will remove top soil by scraper and create a stockpile on the east side on the
south half of the pit. Overburden will similarly mined and stockpiled in a
separate pile to the west of the topsoil. When area number one is mined, the
overburden will be spread out and a 3:1 slope established on the north and east
sidewalls. Topsoil will then by hauled by scraper onto the freshly placed
overburden. Area one will then be seeded according to the reclamation plan.
The next 10 acre area to be mined will be to the west of area one. The third
area will lie immediately south of area 2, and the last area will be the
southeast corner of the pit.
i) Since the pit will be used on an intermittent basis, it is difficult to
estimate the time it will take to mine each of the four areas. We will
estimate that it will take five years to mine each of the four areas.
ii) Area one will be 10 acres and is located in the northeast comer of the
pit. Area 2 will be 10 acres and is located in the northwest corner of the
pit. Area 3 will be 10 acres and is located in the southwest corner of the
pit. Area 4 will be 10 acres and is located in the southeast corner of the
pit.
iii) Area one will be mined first, followed by area 2, 3, and 4 as described
above.
