Noxious Weed Management Plan
Leadlocks, LLC
Hopemore Shaft
Leadville, Colorado
August 2009
Plan Objective
The objectives for Leadlocks, LLC's Noxious Weed Management Plan for the Hopemore
Shaft are to:
• provide the steps necessary for the Hope More Mine to assess the existence of noxious
weeds within and adjacent to the property boundaries;
• provide the Hope More Mine with preventive and treatment measures which will control
the spread and establishment of noxious weeds;
• identify monitoring needs and frequency of monitoring.
Description of the Project
The Hopemore Shaft site permitted property is 1.9 acres located about 3 miles east of the
town of Leadville.
Weed Inventory
The Hopemore Shaft requested Larry Walker, Chaffee County Weed Department, inspect the
mine site. He found a small patch of Yellow toadflax on the road.
Weed Management Techniques
The Hopemore Shaft will use Chemical measures to manage the Yellow toadflax. The mine
will spray the Yellow toadflax with Roundup with an added surfactant at its early stage of
growth.
Monitoring Plan
The Hopemore Shaft will have the local weed control expert inspect the property once a year
to identify any new noxious weed infestations and make any recommendations to the current
management techniques.
