I found a few Canada thistle plants on the pond dike and at
the S.W. corner of the mill. It appears that some have already been sprayed at the S.E. corner.
There were a few Oxeye daisies on the fence line next to the water treatment plant and I went
ahead a sprayed those. Everything else looks pretty good.
For management try to prevent the introduction of weeds by minimizing disturbances and
cleaning equipment before bringing it to the site. Early detection of weeds and prompt action
can prevent new problems.
Bob and I visited the mine site and only found one small patch of Yellow toadflax, which Bob is
going to take care of. They are two of the cleanest properties I have looked at in Lake County so
you should be good to go.
Larry Walker
Chaffee County Weed Dept.
719-539-3455
