amec <br />Earth & Environmental <br />IV) Storm Water Management Structures <br />A) Control Structures <br />No work performed during the week. <br />B) Best Management Practices <br />Best Management Practices are being observed throughout the VLF Phase 5 Project. Storm water <br />controls were improved throughout the week. Sumps were also constructed along existing haul <br />roads for storm water control. Ames upgraded storm water management along the west Lime haul <br />road, near the current sub station. Upgrades included expansion of current sumps, and additional <br />fill material to prevent water from entering the Phase IV pad area. <br />V) VLF Geosynthetics <br />No work performed during the week. <br />CQA ACTIVITIES: <br />SUMMARY: <br />The CQA activities performed consisted of observing, documenting and recording the construction <br />activities of the contractor. <br />AMEC observed placement of structural fill within the Phase 5 VLF fill area. <br />AMEC observed and accepted subgrade preparation within the Phase 5 fill area. <br />Testing Summary <br />Laboratory testing continues (Particle Size Distribution, Atterberg Limits, and Moisture-Density <br />Compaction testing) for sampled materials. <br />GENERAL PROJECT ITEMS <br />Summary of Concerns: <br />No concerns <br />Summary of Planning Items: <br />Structural fill placement within the Phase 5 VLF footprint will continue. <br />Continue processing Soil Liner Fill at the South Cresson Clay Processing area. <br />Continue subgrade preparation within the Phase 5 VLF footprint. <br />Continue clearing and grubbing at the east slope of the Phase 5 VLF footprint. <br />Continue stripping vegetation and topsoil from the Phase 5 VLF footprint. <br />Continue construction of the new ADR tank and waterline. <br />Summary of Non-conformances: <br />None Issued <br />VLF Weekly Report WE 08.08.09.D.doc
