amec
Earth S Environmental
vibratory smooth drum compactor, passing over the entire fill surface at least 4 times (method
compaction technique is applicable).
Structural fill placement was performed between stations J15+00 (+/-) and J17+00 (+/-),
approximately 75 feet left of centerline to 75 feet right of centerline. The material pushed from
the cut area between stations J 15+00 (+/-) and J 17+00 (+/-), approximately 75 feet left of
centerline to 75 right of centerline. The structural fill material was spread in 18" to 24" lifts
using a CAT D-8 dozer. Each lift was moisture conditioned using a CAT 773 water truck
(when necessary) and compacted using a 10-ton vibratory smooth drum compactor, passing
over the entire fill surface at least 4 times (method compaction technique is applicable).
Blast pattern drilling was performed by Rockbreakers in the following areas: between A7+00
(+/-) and A8+50 (+/-), approximately 0 to 40 feet left of centerline; between stations A10+00
(+/-) and A10+75 (+/-), approximately 0 to 20 feet left of centerline; and between stations
A17+50 (+/-) and A18+00, approximately 15 to 30 feet left of centerline using three to four
track mounted drill rigs. Drill pattern blasting was performed on Monday (8/3/2009), Tuesday
(8/4/2009), and Friday (8/7/2009).
G) Material Processing
1) South Cresson Clay Processing Area
Processing of Soil Liner Fill material continued at the South Cresson Clay Processing area. A
CAT D-6 dozer, a CAT 330 excavator, and a CAT 966 front-end loader were used to process
the material.
Location This Week
tons Cumulative
tons Comments
So Cresson Clay Processing 5,866 59,083
Squaw Gulch Processing 0 35,816 Processing in area complete.
Total 5,866 94,899
H) New ADR Water Tank
Manhole and piping construction continued at the new ADR water tank.
I) Miscellaneous
The headwall for the 84" culvert near station E22+00 (+/-) was removed using a CAT 345
excavator.
III) Underground Workings
A) Drilling
No work performed during the week.
B) Mine Shaft/Stope Remediation
No work performed during the week.
C) Lateral/Slot Remediation
No work performed during the week.
VLF Weekly Report WE 08.08.09.D.doc
