The meeting then moved to on-site visit of the (proposed) Peabody Sage Creek and Seneca Ii permit areas.
Jay James, Roy Karo and Scott Cowman accompanied the field portion of the visit.
The field portion started at the Wulf Creek Pre-law area. The Eastern portion of the reclaimed Wolf Creek
Pit continues to have portions of the reclaimed area that have thin revegetation establishment. Seneca Coal
Company (SCC) previous had sampled these spoil areas and found low pH in the spoil material (-3.4 pli).
This area received no topsoil so seeding was conducted directly into spoil. SCC has previously added lime
to the affected spoil. Roy believed that this is the 2"" growing season since lime treatment. Portions of this
prc-lay area have fair to good perennial vegetation established, while other portions are still rather sparse. Of
the 67.4 acres of the remaining Wolf Creek Pit liability, SCC personnel estimated that roughly 25 acres are
affected by the low pH spoils.
The site visit then progresses to the South and west portion ofthe Seneca 11 permit to located the projected
boundary between the proposed PSC and the proposed reduced Seneca 11 permit. "Chis dividing line will
partially be defined by an access roads and primarily by drainage divides. All disturbances associated with
the proposed reduced Seneca 11 permit area will drain to Pond 8. Nine of the disturbed areas to be
incorporated into the PSC permit will drain to Pond 8.

Reclamation on Pre-law Wult•Creck pit, west side of BRB
