• included with the application. As a result of Technical Revision #55 (TR 55), the reclamation
plan for scaling of the NW -1 fan site was modified to account for perforations in the steel liner of
the ventilation fan shaft. The revised plan generally called for grouting of the shaft using pit run
rock, bentonite, and a fluidized grout capable of penetrating the perforations and sealing the
outside annulus between the steel liner and the adjacent rocks. This type of shaft sealing was
required to minimize any potential hydrologic impacts to the local ground water regime.
CRITERIA AND SCHEDULE FOR BOND RELEASE
Rule 3.03.1(2)(a) states that up to 60% of the applicable bond shall be released when the
permittee successfully completes backfilling, grading, and drainage control in accordance with the
approved reclamation plan.
RECLAMATION BOND HISTORY
This section outlines the history of the previous bond release applications processed and approved
by the Division.
