W
I am writing in response to your comments concerning the Urie Gravel Pit in Rangely,
CO. We have enclosed the revised application materials; see below for details on your
individual comments. Thank you for your effort in this matter.
1 EXHIBIT B - Index Map (Rule 6.4.21:
The line of text in the description that mentions a location northwest of the Town
of Rangely is referring to the point where Rio Blanco County road No. 46
connects to State Highway 64. The permit area is located northeast of the Town
of Rangely, as shown on the index map. The text has been reworded for
clarification.
2 EXHIBIT C Pre mining and Mining Plan Maps (Rule 6.4.31[ell:
See EXHIBIT C, revised Pre-mining and Mining Plan Maps, attached.
Present vegetation information has been added to the Pre-mining Plan Map.
The permit boundary has been more clearly labeled, and the mining phases
shown, on both maps.
All maps have been signed and dated by a Registered Land Surveyor.
3 EXHIBIT D -Mining Plan (Rule 6.4.41:
See EXHIBIT D, revised Mining Plan, attached.
The mining will be completed one phase at a time; each phase contains
approximately 5.5 acres. The Mining Plan now includes this information.
The proposed pit will be used to mine only gravel, for commercial sale. The
Mining Plan has been reworded to clarify this.
The portion of the existing access road that is within the permit area will be
extended to reach the physical pit (see Exhibit C - Mining Plan Map). No
drainage or runoff conveyance structures will be in place on this road
