location, this fer:natien is apprcximately 700 feet beneath
the surface, and 200 feet thick. The formation outcrops at
several locations en area streams. Continuous pumping cf the
well for the projected 15-year life of the mine, at its maxi-
mum discharge rate of 35 gallons per minute, which assump-
tions are far in excess of projected water use at the Seneca
II-W mine, would result in maximum depletions tc Sage Creek,
a tributary of the Yampa River, cf apprcximately 0.74 acre
feet per year at the headgate cf the Sage Creek Re servcir
Outlet Ditch. Depletions to ether area streams, and tc Sage
Creek at cr upstream cf the Sage Creek Reservoir, will be
negligible. After the 12-year reclamation period, depletions
to Sage Creek will be de minimus.
E. Pcnd 006 Denletions. Peabody Seneca II-W Mine Pcnd
006 will be constructed en an unnamed tributary of Bubbersen
Gulch, which is a tributary of Dry Creek. Ste rage of surface
water in Pcnd 006 will therefore cause depletions to Dry
Creek and the Yampa River.
F. Augmentation cf Drv Creek. Water will be released
to Temple Gulch cr Dry Creek from Jchn C. Temple Re servcir
Ne. 1 and Emrich Re servcir, at the direction of the Division
Engineer, in such amount, net to exceed 36.1 acre feet per
year, as is necessary to replace cut-cf-priority depletions
caused by storage of water in Peabody Seneca II-W Mine Pend .
006. An additional amount will be released, at the direction
of the Division Engineer, to maintain historical irrigation -
seasen return flews from the 20 acres of alfalfa historically
irrigated, net to exceed the following amounts:
May 1.7 acre feet
June 4.0
July 3.0
August 3.1
September 2.2
Total 14.0
The augmentation releases will be made throughout the
life of the mine and the reclamation period.
G. Augmentation cf Saee Creek. Water will be released
from Peabody Pend Y-1, at the direction of the Division
Engineer, in such amount, not to exceed 0.31 acre feet per
year, as is necessary tc replace cut-ef-priority depletions
occurring during the irrigation season caused by pumping of
Peabody Seneca II-W well C]e. 1.
