Emrich Reservoir has historically been used to <br />irrigate lands below the reservoir, which is located in <br />Section 31, Township 6 North, Range 88 West, 6th P.M., Reutt <br />County. Applicant's lease with the owner of John C. Temple <br />Reservoir No. 1 provides that release of augmentation water <br />may be made from Emrich Reservoir in addition to John C. <br />Temple Reservoir No. 1. <br />C. Wadge Pit Reservoir has historically been used for <br />providing an industrial, domestic and wildlife watering water <br />supply to Applicant's Seneca II Mine, located in Townships 5 <br />and 6 North, Range 87 West, approximately seven miles <br />northeast of the Seneca II-W mine. <br />D. Stagecoach Reservoir is operated by the Upper <br />Yampa Water Conservancy District (UYWCD). Applicant <br />has contracted with UYWCD for the use of 50 acre feet of <br />water per year for 30 years out of Stagecoach Reservoir for <br />use in this Plan for Augmentation. <br />E. Peabody Pend Y-1 will be constructed specifi- <br />cally for use in this Plan for Augmentation. <br />5. Statement of Plan for Augmentation. .0 <br />A. Description of Project. Applicant, Peabody Coal <br />Company, is planning to develop the Seneca II-W Mine, an <br />open pit coal mine located in Sections 10, 14, 15, 21, 22, <br />23, 26, 27, 34 and 35, Township 5 North, Range 88 West, 6th <br />P.M., apprcximately.seven miles south of Hayden, Colorado. <br />The mine will be opened in 1990, and is projected to operate <br />for fifteen years. Reclamation of the mined area will con- <br />tinue for approximately twelve years after mining is <br />completed. Water will be required for domestic and <br />industrial purposes at the mine during the projected fifteen- <br />year mining period, and will be developed from ground water <br />and surface water sources.. <br />B. Water Requirements. Domestic use, consisting of of <br />drinking, washing and sanitary purposes, will require <br />approximately 1.0 acre foot of water per year, and will be <br />supplied by Peabody Seneca II-W Well No. 1.. Industrial use, <br />consisting of dust suppression, evaporation from Peabody <br />Seneca Mine Pend 006,. 'and miscellaneous purposes, will <br />require approximately 28_78 acre feet of water per year, and <br />will be supplied by Peabody Seneca Mine Pond 006 and Peabody <br />Seneca II-W Well No. 1.
