CAMILLETTI MILNER PIT # 2
REVISED RECLAMATION PLAN
The revised reclamation plan for this mine is shown on the enclosed Camilletti Milner Pit # 2 -
Reclamation Plan Map. This detailed colored map also shows the location of the three different
shoreline configurations which are proposed for this operation. As recommended during various
meetings with the Colorado Division of Wildlife and the Routt County Regional Planning
Department Staff, we have broken down the proposed shorelines which will be associated with
the final pond into three different slope configurations. Approximately one third of the pond will
be reclaimed to 4:1 slopes, one third to 6:1 slopes and one third to 10:1 slopes. This map shows
that these three shoreline areas will be planted to a wetland seed mixture and all other
disturbance areas associated with this site will be planted with an upland grass mixture.
In addition, to these differing shoreline features, habitat diversity along the proposed pond
shoreline has been enhanced by proposing varying water depths along the edge of the reclaimed
pond. Shallow water features, where the water depths will be between 3.3 and 6.6 feet in depth
are proposed along the shoreline and are depicted on the Camilletti Milner Pit # 2 - Reclamation
Plan Map. Deeper water habitats where the water depths will be greater than 6.6 are shown for
the portions of the proposed pond further away from the shoreline.
Six finger islands are proposed along the reclaimed shoreline to further enhance habitat diversity
and to provide nesting habitat for waterfowl and other avian species. These finger islands will
allow for nesting which will not be subjected to predation from the smaller predators such as
foxes, coyotes and skunks.
Four detailed color cross-sections which depict the proposed final slopes which will be
encountered for each of the proposed shoreline configuration and reclamation features discussed
above have been prepared. Reclamation Cross-Section A-A' shows the approximate slopes
which will be encountered along a north - south orientation near the western portion of the
reclaimed pond area. Reclamation Cross-Section B-B' shows the approximate final slopes which
will be encountered along a similar north - south orientation near the eastern portion of the
proposed pond area. Reclamation Cross-Section C-C' shows the proposed slope water depth
configurations along an east - west orientation near the northern portion of the proposed pond
area and includes the proposed boat ramp and picnic area. Reclamation Cross-Section D-D'
shows the similar features along the southern portion of the proposed reclaimed pond area and
includes the areas associated with the proposed sediment pond, utility line easement as well the
willow vegetative screen near the eastern portion of the property.
Based upon the exploration drill hole and test pit data, on average, approximately 1.7 feet of
topsoil and overburden will be replaced on the mine areas, with a range of between 0.5 and 6.5
feet. The proposed final land use proposed for this site per the landowners directions are for the
site to be reclaimed as permanent water feature with an undulating shoreline and gentling sloping
edges which will facilitate the establishment of prime wetland and riparian habitats. This
reclamation plan follows the directions given the Applicant by the Colorado Division of Wildlife
during the wildlife consultation process.
