•
Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project
Quality Assurance Monitoring and Test Results
Load Out Bin Relocation
July 7, 2009
ameO
The laboratory test results are summarized in Tables 5, 6 and 7 and presented in Appendix H.
4.1.1 Grain Size Distribution
AMEC completed the grain size distribution (gradation) of samples of SF, SLF, and DCF. The
results of gradation analyses are presented in Appendix H-1 and summarized in Tables 5
through 7.
¦ AMEC performed 2 CQA gradations of SF. The testing frequency (approximately one
test per 1,000 cubic yards) exceeded the minimum specified testing frequency of one
test per 50,000 cubic yards. The CQA gradations performed on SF met project
specifications. The SF CQA gradation results are presented in Appendix H-1 and
summarized in Table 5.
¦ AMEC performed 2 CQA gradations of SLF. The testing frequency (approximately one
test per 623 cubic yards) exceeded the minimum specified testing frequency of one test
per 5,000 cubic yards. The CQA gradations performed of SLF met project
specifications. The SLF CQA gradation results are presented in Appendix H-1 and
summarized in Table 6.
¦ AMEC performed 3 CQA gradations of DCF. The testing frequency (approximately one
test per 1,075 cubic yards) exceeded the minimum specified testing frequency of one
test per 20,000 cubic yards. The DCF CQA gradations met project specifications, and
the results are presented in Appendix H-1 and summarized in Table 7.
4.1.2 Moisture Content
9
AMEC measured oven moisture contents of SF, SLF, and DCF as part of the CQA program.
Moisture content data are presented in Appendix H-1.
4.1.3 Atterberg Limits
AMEC performed Atterberg limit testing of all fill materials. All fill materials, with the exception of
SF and SLF were non-plastic. The SLF, SF, and DCF samples tested met project specifications
for Atterberg Limits.
The SLF Atterberg limits testing frequency (approximately one test per 623 cubic yards)
exceeded the minimum specified testing frequency of one test per 5,000 cubic yards. The
plasticity index of the CQA SLF samples were both 29, meeting the project specification of
plasticity index greater than or equal to 10. Atterberg limit test results for SLF are presented in
Appendix H-1 and summarized in Table 6.
S:\PROJECTS\1125E CCV CQA\H3 - CONSTRUCTION\LOB CERT REPORT\REPORT BODY\LOB CERT REPORT 2009.07.07.DOC
11
