J
Siloam Stone - Bedrock #1 Mine Permit # M-1997-086
RECLAMATION COST ANALYSIS - July 7, 2009
This reclamation cost estimate in based on the assumption that
there will be no more that 60.00 acres ± disturbed at any one time.
Of this sixty acres 25.00 ac. would be slab rock area and 35.00 ac.
would be temporary stone storage area (TSSA). It also assumes, that
when it comes time to resoil the SLAB rock area that only 12 inches of
soil would be spread over the disturbed area and that the TSSA will
only need raking and seeding. The remaining overburden piles would be
graded and seeded. At that time we will have to respread 24,200 cubic
yards of topsoil. We estimate that at a worst case scenario that
there will be a maximum of 2,050 L-FT needing cut/fill sloping and
1025 L-ft of backfill would be needed. Using the numbers shown on the
typical cross section on page 17 or the 1997 application book and
assuming that since sloping and resoiling would run concurrent with
mining approximately 40% of the dirt work would be done. The table
below outlines the various areas of disturbance at that time. In this
estimate a D-8N dozer will be used to do the shaping, a 988H loader is
used to redistribute the topsoil and 140G motor grader will be used to
spread the soil and prep the seed bed. The revegetation cost figure
for the slab rock area includes fertilizer, grass seed, mulch and
drilling costs. The revegetation cost for the TSSA only covers
raking, fertilizer and seed. The unit cost numbers come directly for
the Divisions CICRES cost estimate prepared by Ms. Deb Zack on 11-
April-2008, except the Loader and Motor grader costs.
STAGE TOTAL SOIL DEPTH
NEEDS RESOILING 15.O0 12"
REVEGETATION SLAs AREA 25.00
REVEGETATION TSSA 35.00
SLOPE CUT/FILL 2050 LINEAR FEET
SLOPE ROCK FILL 1025 LINEAR FEET
RESOIL @ 1 2" 24,200 CUBIC YARDS
ESTIMATED UNIT COSTS FOR RECLAMATION ITEMS:
Unit Cost
1.
