in this mine. Only one is new because of the distinction that
needs to be made between the Stoneyard and the TSSA.
Slab Rock Areas - This definition remains unchanged from
the original permit application.
Surface Rock area - This definition remains unchanged
from the original permit application. Reclamation will
follow the current approved plan.
Stoneyard - This definition remains unchanged from the
original permit application. We are adding to this
definition a qualifier in that this area is currently
13.55 acres and may grow as a result of a business
decision based on the companies growth in the future.
If we find we need more area the Division will be
advised of our plans to expand or change the shape of
this area prior to making the change. No reclamation
will be needed on this area as it will be used as our
primary Stoneyard.
TSSA -Temporary Stone Storage Area - This area is defined
as a place where large pieces of slab rock are stored
until it is sold. The uses on this area are not as
intensive as the slab rock mining area but more that
the surface rock area. Picture in your file show that
the stone is placed using rubber tired tractors that
mat down the grass. In most cases the grasses in and
around the stone, recover without Siloam Stone doing
anything to it. These areas will be reclaimed by
raking the surface and broadcast seeding the area.
Technical Revision #Z
The second revision is to revise the approved seed mix. We
have been experimenting with a cheaper grass seed mix and have
found that it proves to be more successful than the current mix.
This is a standard pasture mix available from Arkansas Valley
Seed called Dryland Pasture Mix costing $1.59/lb-pls for amounts
