6 (Form 2- Public)
3. Describe the estimated topsoil depth and how topsoil will be salvaged, stockpiled and redistributed for the re-establishment of
vegetation. Specify approximate topsoil redistribution depth:
Abundant top soil is available at the 5`ll level portal and work area. The 5t' level dump
and working plat form only will be subject to re-establishment of vegetation. A thin layer
of the aforementioned top soil material was spread on the 5a' level dump leveling .,out the
work area in 1985. This area has naturally reseeded itself. (See photo50 A 3"
to 6" topsoil depth will be easily implemented.
Topsoils to be used in rehabilitation measures will be taken from the lower part of the talus cone at the 5
portal on the south side of the Santiago Mine Area. ( See page _L I 13
4. Describe how drill holes will be plugged (refer to Rule 5.4 of the Rules for required abandonment procedures):
A truck mounted drill will be used and positioned on the lower section of the Santiago 3rd
level access road in the lower part of the talus cone at the basin floor (See
photos:?*7,Z ?? and the road to the drill site ) Drilling will
have a mim disturbances. Drilling in talus will be collared until reaching hard rock
and core drill depths are estimated at 400' to 800' for two holes to be drilled using small
bit sizes. Drill holes will be plugged with rock fragments filled with a concrete mix and
capped. When the cap has set, talus will be used to bring the drill site back to natural
grade. All cutting will be absorbed into talus and all core samples will be removed from
the site.
5. Describe how portals, adits, shafts, ponds, excavations, or other disturbances will be reclaimed (refer to Rule 3 and Rule 5 for
specific reclamation performance standards). You may wish to contact the Division for closure specifications.
Portal closure will meet all specific reclamation and performance standards of the
Division of Minerals and Geology. (See Photos #1 g-rS Page O
6. Describe how roads will be reclaimed or returned to their pre-prospecting (or better) condition.
All roads are passable for transportation and equipment (See photos of Vidler Tunnel of
activities 2007-2008 13 and Road photo to Santiago II and drill site.).
Unless sloughing of road banks or wash outs occur, no reclamation should be needed.
