Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />Review 12 Construction <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety has begun the review process for the above referenced 112 <br />amendment application. The project appears to be a straight forward request to permit a construction materials <br />operation. A review of the application has revealed a few clarifications and issues that need to be addressed. <br />1. EXHIBIT B - Index Map (Rule 6.4.2): The description of the index map states that the Urie pit is <br />located approximately 1.5 mile northwest of Rangely, CO. The site appears to be located 1.5 northeast <br />of Rangely, CO. Please submit a corrected Exhibit B with the correct information. <br />2. EXHIBIT C - Pre-mining and Mine Plan Maps Map (Rule 6.4.3(e)): Please provide a revised <br />map(s) that includes Correstions/clarification for the following items: <br />• Identify the existing type of present vegetation covering the affected lands. <br />• Please clearly label the permit boundary and identify the proposed 3 mine Phases on both the <br />pre-mining and mine plan maps. <br />• All maps must be prepared and signed and dated by a registered land surveyor, professional <br />engineer, or other qualified person. <br />3. EXHIBIT D - Mining Plan (Rule 6.4.4): Please provide clarification for the following items: <br />• Specify the estimated size of areas to be worked at any one time; <br />• Name and describe the intended use of all incidental products to be mined/extracted by the <br />proposed operation. <br />• Describe any improvements necessary on existing roads and the specifications to be used in the <br />construction of new roads. New or improved roads must be included as part of the permitted <br />acreage. Describe any associated drainage and runoff conveyance structures to include <br />sufficient information to evaluate structure sizing; <br />• Page 12 of the mining plan states "In the event that Rio Blanco County needs to bring other <br />facilities on site for the operations....". Please explain what connection Rio Blanco County will <br />Office of Office of <br />Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
