<br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33,
<br />Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on December 26, 2007, an application to renew an
<br />existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the North Thompson Creek Mine was considered complete for
<br />the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act
<br />and the Rules initiate from this date of filing.
<br />MINREC, Inc. proposes to continue reclamation operations on land located approximately 10 miles southwest of
<br />Carbondale, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows:
<br />T8S, R89W; Portions of Sections 21, 22, 27, 28, 33, 34 and 35
<br />T9S, R89W; Portions of Sections 2, 3 and 4
<br />T7S, R88W; Portions of Sections 20, 29, 30 and 32
<br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Stony Ridge, Carbondale and
<br />Cattle Creek.
<br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Garfield County Clerk and Recorder, 109
<br />8th Street, Suite 200, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601, and at the Division office. For additional information, to
<br />provide written comments, or request an informal conference, contact the Division of Reclamation, Mining and
<br />Safety, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567, within thirty (30) days after the
<br />last public notice in the Glenwood Springs Post Independent.
