This spring issues from
joints in a sandstone ledge and has perennial flow, but shows strong seasonal variations with high
flows in the spring months. Monitoring at this spring began in 1977.
3.2.1.7 Springy G-16
Spring G-16 is located in Sylvester Gulch east of the NE mine panel area (Map 2). This spring
issues from a sandstone bed above the F-seam and flows seasonally. It is typically dry in the late
summer and fall. Monitoring at this spring began in 1979.
3.2.1.8 grin G-24 (Decreed Spring #8)
Spring G-24 is located in Sylvester Gulch east of the NE B-seam mine panel area (Map 2). Monitoring at this spring began in
1979.
3.2.1.9 Spring G-14 (Decreed Spring 47)
• Spring G-14 is located in Sylvester Gulch east of the NE B-seam mine panel area (Map 2). This
spring issues from fractures in the base of a sandstone bed. It flows seasonally and is typically dry
in the late summer and fall. Monitoring at this spring began in 1977.
3.2.1.10 Spring G-22 (Decreed Spring #3)
Spring G-22 is located in the Sylvester Gulch drainage on a hillside on the west side of the
drainage, just south of a mine ventilation shaft and east of the NE B-seam mine panel area (Map 2).
It issues from alluvium over a wide area and feeds a wetland on the west side of Sylvester Gulch.
Flow diminishes in late summer and autumn. Monitoring at this spring began in 1977.
3.2.2 Springs above the B-Seam in the Box Canyon Area in the
North Fork Drainage Basin
3.2.2.1 Springy
Spring 11-2 is located east of Box Canyon on a hillside on the south side of the North Fork (Map
2).
