. AMENDMENT TO COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT
CONTRACT
Mr. Zopf reviewed the changes made to the Consumer Protection Contract between
Routt County and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. He said that
the contract in part related to public health regulations that pertained to schools and other
public facilities for which the County provided inspection services and that some rates for those
services were to be changed by the State. He stated that the amendment directed that
inspections be accompanied by a report completed on a laptop computer on-site and sent to
the State. A copy of that report could also be provided to the food service operator at the time
of an inspection. That procedure was a change from typed reports being mailed to the Denver
office and would ensure that information was entered correctly into the State's database. He
noted that Routt County inspected every school at least annually, a practice that was
performed more often than required by the State and included building safety and laboratory
safety checks as well as food service inspections. Another non-required food service
inspection was performed by Routt County at special events because sanitary conditions could
be easily compromised in such situations.
MOTION
Commissioner Mitsch Bush moved to approve and authorize the Chair to sign the
Amendment to Environmental Health Contract between Routt County and the Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment to include the following changes:
->Add a provision to allow an increase or decrease of service; based on the rates
established in the contract;
Add a requirement for the Routt County Environmental Health Department to input all
inspection reports into the `digital health department' database within five calendar days
after inspection, and.
Require the number of inspections for certain establishments changed from 'two' to
read, `two or at a frequency determined by risk'.
Commissioner Monger seconded; the motion carried 2-0. Commissioner Stahoviak was
absent.
EN RE: MUSEUM AND HERITAGE FUND / HELENA BOND
CAPACITY-BUILDING GRANT APPLICATIONS
Rebecca Wattles, Hayden Heritage Center, and Marsha Daughenbaugh, Community
Agriculture Alliance, were also present.
Ms. Bond reviewed each application for a Museum and Heritage Fund capacity-building
grant, and noted the nature of each project, the amount requested, and the total budget for
each project.
