<br />Attachment A <br />Special Stipulations <br />1. The operator shall immediately cease all operations upon discovery of <br />fossils of scientific value and will.immediately notify the authorized <br />office. The BLM shall evaluate and/or cause to be removed such <br />discoveries within 48 hours. The BLM may negotiate additional time if <br />mutually agreeable to the operator and BLM. <br />2. The cost of any required paleontologic surveys and recovery of any <br />fossils of scientific value discovered during operations, shall be borne <br />by the operator. <br />3. If cultural resources are discovered during operations, the lessee shall <br />immediately notify the OSM Regional Director or the BLM authorized <br />officer. The lessee shall not disturb such discoveries. Within five <br />(5) working days, the Regional Director (or authorized officer for the <br />appropriate surface management agency) will evaluate, or cause to have <br />evaluated. any cultural resources discovered and will determine if any <br />action may be required to protect or preserve these discoveries. Cost <br />of recovery/mitigation of these resources shall be borne by the lessee. <br />• 4. All cultural resources discovered shall remain under the jurisdiction of <br />the United States of America until ownership is determined under <br />applicable law. <br />0
