COR-040000 Stormwater Management Plan
The approximate areas that are disturbed during the mining process, including portal, vent holes,
DRAs, stockpiles, and access roads are as follows:
Van 4 Shaft: 7.9 acres
Total permitted area: 8.4 acres
The total impervious area from support facilities such as the shop and hoist house will remain as
it exists. No additional new facilities are planned to be built at this time.
a) Area Subject to Effluent Limitation Guidelines (COR-040000, §I.B.2)
Discharges that are determined to be considered process water, and therefore subject to numeric
effluent limitations, are waters discharged from the mine or water flowing through ore rock
stockpiles. No process waters will be discharged from the underground mining activities. Water
encountered will be used for drilling and dust suppression activities within the mine. It is not
anticipated that waters will be processed flowing through the ore rock stockpiles. Ore rock
stockpiles will be hauled to the processing plant in Utah frequently, and will not remain at the
site for extended periods of time. Ore rock stockpiles that are located at the site will be
contained with best management practices, such as berms, designed to contain a 100-year, 24
hour storm event. Due to the efforts to manage stormwater, no areas of the site are subject to
numeric effluent limitations contained in 40 CFR subchapter N.

Van 4 Shaft SWMP 3 Denison Mines (USA) Corp.
