EXHIBIT E
RECLAMATION PLAN
GUNNISON RIVER GRAVEL PITS
The reclamation of the sites will be done on an ongoing basis, as an area is completed,
the area will be reclaimed to the extent conditions will allow for the time of the year. As a
portion of a pit is completed, it will be sloped and topsoil placed on the slopes in
preparation for seeding. Seeding of the reclaimed slopes will occur in the spring or fall of
the year depending on when they are completed.
Reclamation will consist of sloping the pit 3 horizontal to 1 vertical from the existing
ground surface to the bottom of the pit. Topsoil will be spread on the slopes above the
water line to a depth of 6 to 10 inches.
Disturbed areas and final slopes around the ponds will be seeded with the following seed
mixture:
SPECIES # PLS/Acre
Tall Fescue 6.0
Crested Wheatgrass 6.0
Alkaligrass, Fults 1.5
Alkali Sacaton 1.0
Fourwing Saltbrush 4.0
Fertilizer will be applied at the following rate of available nutrients in pounds per acre:
Nitrogen(N2) 18, Phosphorus(P205).
When final reclamation has been completed, the sites will contain five ponds ranging in
size from 3.6 to 8.5 acres. See Exhibit F.
The haul road will be left in place to provide permanent access to the mined and other
parcels along the road.
Final reclamation of the site should be completed within two years after all material has
been mined out. This will allow for three growing seasons for the vegetation to establish
itself.
The post mining lane use will be private recreation and rangeland.
