• Volumes of material are shown in Table D-1. The mining areas and stockpiles are shown on
Maps C-2 & C-3.
Table D-1 Mining Area Material Table
Mining Area Acreage Topsoil (C.Y.) Overburden (C.Y.) Gravel (tons)
Phase 1 12.6 20,328 101,640 777,208
Phase 2 10.0 16,133 80,667 616,832
Tota 1 22.6 36,461 182,307 1,394,040
Note that the areas above only include mining areas, not areas along the perimeter. The
anticipated total disturbed area for the operation consists of approximately 27.675 acres.
Material will be stored on site for use by the county for projects. The north access road will be
used as the mining access through out the life of the mine. The south access road will be installed
after the mining of Phase 1 is completed and will be used exclusively for traffic related to the
industrial yard. Trucks used to haul mined material off site will only use the north access road.
Mining will be to a depth of 28' to stay above the water table. The gravel is expected to follow
the surface topography.
2. Mining Timetable
The following table (Table D-2) is a best estimate of the sequence of operations for the life of
the mine. It is based on mining and using an initial amount of 100,000 tons per year for the first
portion of the pit life and 20,000 tons per year for the second portion.
•
LaSalle Pit, April 09 D-3
