amec
Earth & Environmental
AMEC observed Structural Fill and Soil Liner Fill placement at the Sediment Pond.
Testing Summary
Laboratory testing continued (Particle Size Distributions, Atterberg Limits, and Moisture-Density
Compaction testing) for sampled materials, throughout both shifts. Particle Size Distribution test results
on three representative samples of structural fill from the VLF fill areas were completed. Test results
revealed greater than 30% rock was retained on the 3/4 -inch screen. Method specification compaction is
applicable for the materials tested.
Concrete cylinders were delivered to an off-site testing laboratory for compressive strength testing.
GENERAL PROJECT ITEMS
Summary of Concerns:
No Concerns
Summary of Planning Items:
Work will continue on structural fill placement in the VLF.
Processing will continue for the Soil Liner Fill at the South Cresson Clay Processing area.
Soil Liner Fill will continue in addition to the installation of the riser pipe and the placement of rip-rap in
the Sediment Pond.
Summary of Non-conformances:
None Issued
Summary of Meetings and Discussions:
CC& V.•
CC&V held a Weekly Construction meeting on May 5, 2009.
