2.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Denison has reactivated five underground uranium mines that make up the Sunday Mines: Topaz Mine,
West Sunday Mine, Sunday Mine, Carnation Mine, and St. Jude Mine. The mine site is generally located
at Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) coordinates 691,300 meters (m) east and 4,216,600 m north
(North American Datum [NAD] 83), zone 12. The Sunday Mines are on Bureau of Land Management
land.
The permitted uranium ore production rate for the Sunday Mines is 214,000 tons per year. No ore will be
processed on site. Instead, ore will be transported off site for processing. No ore will be left on the
surface after mining ceases. The Sunday Mines are permitted as a minor source of air pollution as per
APCD Construction Permits 07SM1140 and 07SM1141F.
r•
•
2-1
V::`docanKrtta and s ingx?cwoodwmdMml a.dnpVaMomry imm'd tll.b@4V;w by min. w WH-Dian d.fl.dW
