• 1.0 INTRODUCTION
Denison Mines (USA) Corp. (Denison) has reopened five underground uranium mines that make up the
Sunday Mines. The Sunday Mines are located in southwestern Colorado, on the south side of Big
Gypsum Valley in San Miguel County, Colorado. The Sunday Mines are located 17 miles southwest of
Naturita, Colorado. On June 20, 2008, Denison was issued Colorado Department of Public Health and
Environment (CDPHE) Air Pollution Control Division (APCD) Construction Permits 07SM1140 and
07SM1141F for construction of these mines.
Based on the permitted uranium ore production rate of 214,000 tons per year, this source is subject to
Subpart B of the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for underground
uranium mines (Underground Uranium Mine NESHAP). This regulation is codified in the Code of
Federal Regulations (CFR) 40 CFR 61, Subpart B.
This document presents the Underground Uranium Mine NESHAP compliance plan requirements for the
Sunday Mines. Denison will ensure the compliance plan meets or exceeds all applicable requirements of
40 CFR 61, Subpart B. Section 2.0 of this document describes the mining project. Section 3.0 provides a
• summary of the Underground Uranium Mine NESHAP. The proposed compliance plan and
recordkeeping requirements are discussed in Section 4.0. References are presented in Section 5.0.

%OdOcuaa and neltiolssmood-d%local actGngsNempolaryimencet filaWk4W.'"y mimcortpiawe plm_dnft.doc
1-1
