COR-030000 Stormwater Management Plan
St. Jude Mine: Surface drainage flows northeast to an earthen berm, which directs the
flow to the northwest into a temporary sediment basin on the northwest side of the site.
The basin discharges to the north into an unnamed tributary of Big Gypsum Creek,
located approximately 3/ mile north of the mine workings area.
Topaz mine: Surface drainage flows north to an earthen berm, which works as a
temporary *sediment basin for the site: The drainage from the berm discharges to the
north into an unnamed tributary of Big Gypsum Creek, located approximately 3/ mile
north of the mine workings area.
West Sunday Mine: Surface drainage flows north and northwest to an earthen berm,
which works as a temporary sediment basin for the site. The drainage from the berm
discharges to the north into an unnamed tributary of Big Gypsum Creek, located
approximately 3/ mile north of the mine workings area.
Carnation Mine: Surface drainage flows north and northwest over a series of earthen
berms which act as water bars to slow the flow rate of the runoff. A portion of the south
half of the site drains into a temporary sediment basin that is located in the middle of the
site. The drainage from the berms and the basin discharges to the north into a tributary of
Big Gypsum Creek, located approximately V2 mile north of the mine area.
Big Gypsum Creek (EPA Segment ID COGULD03) is an intermittent creek that drains
northwest approximately 3 to 6 miles from the mine sites to the Dolores River, which
generally drains northwest and ultimately discharges to the Colorado River. There are no
discharges to waters subject to Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) from the project (EPA
2007b). - -- - -
i) Site Map (§I.C.2):
Site maps meeting the requirements of the permit are included in Appendix B.
•
Denison Mines (USA) Corp.
