confrontations are prohibited, as this sort of behavior may also incite personal conflict and • <br />cause safety issues within the working crew itself. <br />Once notified, the project supervisor will observe the indicated employee for evidence of chronic <br />safety issues and take the appropriate actions to ensure that the unsafe behavior is corrected and <br />eradicated. <br />3.2 Personnel Training <br />The training requirements for AMSO personnel conducting surface and underground <br />reclamation activities, environmental sampling/monitoring, contacting contaminated or <br />potentially contaminated media, or performing intrusive activities, include the following: <br />• OSHA 4o-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Training; <br />• Annual 8-hour OSHA Refresher Training <br />Site-Specific Training <br />• Tailgate Safety Meetings <br />• Safety Inspections <br />• CPR/First Aid Training (two people) <br />Information about project specific chemical hazards is communicated to employees through an <br />initial site orientation meeting (site-specific health and safety meeting) and during subsequent <br />tailgate safety meetings. At a ininimum, employees will be instructed on the following: <br />• Chemicals and their hazards at the work area. <br />• How to prevent exposure to these hazardous chemicals and substances. <br />• Any physical or health hazard associated with the use of hazardous substances or <br />mixtures being used in the work area. <br />• The right of employees, their physicians or the collective bargaining representatives to <br />receive information on hazardous substances to which they may be exposed. <br />• Procedures to follow if exposed to the chemicals and substances. <br />• <br />0 How to read and interpret labels and MSDSs for hazardous substances and chemicals. 0
