SPCC !PLAN <br />7.0 OIL SPILL CONTINGENCY PLAN <br />When a spill. has been discovered, the person making the discovery should: <br />1. Protect themselves with personal protective equipment (PPE); <br />2. Elindnate potential ignition sources, <br />3. Restrict access to the spill area; <br />4. Determine the source of the spill; <br />5. Attempt to stop the source of the spill, ONLY if it can be done SAFELY; and <br />b. Immediately notify the responsible Supervisor that an oil spill has occurred, and inform <br />him of the corrective action taken or required. <br />The supervisor should: <br />1. Direct the cleanup to prevent the spill from migrating off the well pad if possible; <br />2. Arrange for necessary repairs and/or remediation; <br />• <br />3. Immediately notify the AMSO point of contact; 0 <br />4. Record the spill-related information on the Spill Report Form provided in Appendix A of <br />this SPCC Plan; and <br />5. Notify all appropriate Federal, State, and local agencies of the release of any reportable <br />quantity of spilled petroleum products <br />The superintendent of site operations will be the designated Spill Coordinator. This individual <br />will be responsible for documenting and reporting any reportable spill and the method used to <br />contain and clean up the spill. The Spill Coordinator will also be responsible for notifying all <br />appropriate federal, state, and local agencies of the release of any reportable quantity of spilled <br />petroleum products. <br />The Spill Coordinator will respond immediately in the event of any spill. Initially, the Spill <br />Coordinator will assess the volume of material spilled and the adequacy of the containment. If <br />the quantity of material spilled is small and is contained entirely within the containment areas <br />provided, the Spill Coordinator will direct trained personnel in the use of spill kits to clean up the <br />material and the proper disposal of any contaminated sorbent materials.
