Based on the plans provided by the client it appears that the majority of the cuttings pits will be excavated
• into the natural soils and bedrock materials with cuts ranging from 5 to 25 feet in depth. However, earthen
embankment fills on the order of 5 to 20 feet in height will be required at the south end of the pit. It also
appears that the shaft pad will generally consist of embankment fills ranging from 1 to 10 feet in height
with the deeper fill materials being placed along the south end of the pad site.
Based on the plans provided by the client and prepared by Water & Earth Technologies, Inc. it appears that
the majority of the sedimentation ponds will be excavated into the natural clays and bedrock materials with
cuts ranging from 5 to 10 feet in depth. However, earthen embankment fills on the order of 4 to 10 feet in
height will be required at the south end of the ponds.
The project plans did not provide any cross sections for the transformer pad and access road; however, for
purposes of this report we have assumed that the site grading required for these areas will generally consist
of cuts constructed along the northern edges and fills being constructed along the southern edges of the pad
and roadway alignment.
For design purposes, we have assumed the structure loadings to be moderate, typical of this type of
construction. If loadings or conditions are significantly different from those described above, we should be
notified to reevaluate the recommendations contained in this report.
0 Site Conditions
The project site is located west of County Road #27 on the Cross Mountain Ranch in Routt County,
Colorado. The site was vacant at the time of this investigation. The vegetation at the site consists of grasses,
weeds, and sagebrush.
The topography across the site is variable and generally slopes gently to steeply to the southeast, south, and
southwest on the order of 1 to 25 percent. A maximum elevation difference of 20 to 50 feet appears to exist
across the subject property.
Field Investigation
During the field investigation for this project eight (8) test holes were advanced at the approximate
locations shown in Figure #2 to assess the subsurface conditions. Locations of the test holes were
determined in the field by pacing from staked building comers at the site, as well as from the site plan
provided by the client.

Job Number: 08-8241 NWCC, Inc.
