The 650 dragline is cimently excavating on the north
pardon of this area, developing pits into a shallow J-shape
in a northeasterly-westerly orientation. As the pit is
further developed daring the 1992-1996 pP*~; t term, the pit
orientation will gradually shift northeasterly-southwesterly
and continue to generally progress southeasterly until
anticipated cmnpletion of the pit in 1997.
Some operational problems are anticipated along the northwest
cropline in Section 2 where overburden depths approach 140
feet. If the excavation equipment is unable to effectively
uncover the coal reso~sce, the pits may be chnrtnnc+r3 tp better
aoooimnodate equipment capabilities or auxiliary equipment may
prestrip a portion of the overburden. Scare minor quality and
• coal removal scheduling difficulties may also be experienced
due to a shale parting ooasring in a portion of the coal
field. Should the opal be of inadequate quality, alternate
haulage raags may be necessary on a tei[q~arary basis.
The Wadge pit, south and east of the Wolf CreP]c pit, is
identified on the Operations Plan map as the West arri East
Wadge pit. Currently, these pits are generally located in the
SF?; Section 11 and the N; Section 12, T5N, RB7W, respectively.
The 77oB dragline has stripped in both pits. licxaever, west
pit excavation has been oongrleted and final coal removal is
oongrleted. Active minim is ongoirg in the east pit by the
650B dragline. This pit has developed into a
nort2nrest-southeast arientation and will progress in a
northeastpsly direction until the mining is completed in 1997.
The 770 dragline is c~m~errtly operating at the Seneca II-W
.
