4r_
Photo 9: Area 22 North of gas well pad Photo 10: Cottonwoods in Area 22
Area 22: Area 22 was seeded in 1985 and is generally evaluated with area 20. Area 22 has also been impacted by gas well
development. The vegetative cover is good, and is visually dominated by smooth brome and blue grama, with prickly pear
cacti present throughout the parcel. (Photo 9) A small patch of volunteer Cottonwood trees have become established in this
parcel (Photo 10). Tamarisk in this tree clump were previously managed and effectively killed with no re-sprouting evident.
Photo 11: Area 14, looking north Photo 12: Area 8, looking east
Area 14: Area 14 is a small, 1.73 acre parcel located at the western extent of reclaimed Pit A. This parcel was seeded in
1997 and gently slopes to the north. The vegetative cover is very good with visually dominant species consisting of
Wheatgrasses, Smooth brome,Wild rye, and blue grams. (Photo 11)
Area 8: Area 8 is located at the eastern side of the reclaimed Pit A. This 8.06 acre parcel was seeded in 1995. Vegetation
is very healthy and exhibits very good cover. Visually dominant species include Smooth brume, Wheatgrasses, Indian
ricegrass, and prickly pear cacti. Two relatively small bare patches were noted, both approximately 5-6 ft. in diameter.
These patches were riddled with small rodent holes. These patches were apparently wildlife caused due to the burrowing
disturbance. Both were of very limited extent, and the eastern patch had annual forbs growing on it. No erosion was noted
around these two bare patches. (Photo 12)
Page_6_of_9_Pages,(date) 5118I2009(Initials) 'hb
