DRMS -2- April 30, 2008
6. There was virtually no topsoil salvaged from the East Mine disturbed area. It is
estimated there are 1,500 cubic yards of topsoil remaining near the coal mine
waste disposal area and another 300 cubic yards at the fan level. See the
narrative on amended page 62 which explains topsoil placement.
7. The section heading at the top of page 59 was amended.
8. The paragraphs regarding rock slope entries on pages 62 and 63 were delete
9. The statement in the first paragraph of Reclamation Plan page 66, was amended
to state that 0" to 9" of topsoil were stripped and 6" to 9" replaced.
10. The enclosed copy of page 67 should bring up to date the DRMS' version of the
reclamation plan narrative.
11. No later than December 30, 2008, Bowie Resources LLC will provide a
comprehensively revised reclamation plan for the cropland land use areas at the
Paonia Loadout, which will address soil replacement or amendment plans,
detailed planting and liability period management plans, revegetation success
standard, and methods of comparison for demonstration of success.
Pages 2.05 59, 62, 63, 66, 67, 68, 72, 74a and Figure 2.05-5 are enclosed. Please call
if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
E. Stover, P. E.
Consulting Engineer
Cc: Denver Office (1 copy)
