EXHIBIT J
VEGETATION INFORMATION
The Urie Gravel Pit is located primarily in NRCS Map Unit 25 where native vegetation is
mainly low brush, grasses and willow. The potential plant community on this unit is
mainly alkali sacaton, saltgrass, western wheatgrass and sedges. Smaller amounts of
willows, tall rabbit brush and fourwing saltbrush are commonly are also resent in the
potential plant community. The average annual production of air-dry vegetation is about
2,000 pounds per acre.
The large portion of the remainder of the Urie Gravel Pit is located in NRCS Map Unit
93 where native vegetation is mainly desert shrubs and grasses. The potential plant
community on this unit is mainly galleta, Indian ricegrass, greasewood, big sagebrush,
bud sagebrush, bottlebrush squirreltail and Gardner saltbrush. Smaller amounts pf
western wheatgrass, Douglas rabbitbrush and winterfat commonly are also present in the
potential plant community. The average annual production of air-dry vegetation is about 650
pounds per acre.
A very small portion of the Urie Gravel Pit is located in NRCS Map Unit 5, where the
native vegetation is mainly very sparse low desert shrubs and grasses.
The remainder of the Urie Gravel Pit is located in NRCS Map Unit 8, where the native
vegetation is mainly desert shrubs and sparse grasses. The potential plant community is
mainly greasewood, gardner saltbrush, Indian ricegrass, bottlebrush squirreltail, big
sagebrush and winterfat.
