6 (Form 2- Public)
3. Describe the estimated topsoil depth and how topsoil will be salvaged, stockpiled and redistributed for the re-establishment of
vegetation. Specify approximate topsoil redistribution depth:
The proposed work area is situated on an existing mine bench with no topsoil. However, volunteer plant
growth within the proposed work area indicates that surficial material will be suitable for plant growth. An
avg. 6 inches of suitable plant growth material will be stripped from the surface to the active work area
around the shaft and stockpiled for use during reclamation. Stockpiles will be covered with erosion control
material. Once project work is completed, disturbed areas will be graded and ripped to a depth of 12 inches.
Stockpiled plant growth material will then be spread evenly over regraded areas followed by revegetation.
Woody vegetation removed during site construction will be evenly redistributed over revegetated areas.
4. Describe how drill holes will be plugged (refer to Rule 5.4 of the Rules for required abandonment procedures):
NA - No borehole plugging and abandonment work will be required for this project.
5. Describe how portals, edits, shafts, ponds, excavations, or other disturbances will be reclaimed (refer to Rule 3 and Rule 5 for
specific reclamation performance standards). You may wish to contact the Division for closure specifications.
Please see attached page 11 for description under Heading IV - Operations and Reclamation, subheading 5.
6.
