S (Form 2- Public)
G. Total project area to be disturbed 7.61 (acres)
11. Describe the equipment to be used for the prospecting operations:
EUipment to be used for reentering the mine and taking rock samples includes a mobile crane,
hoist/headframe and cage, ventilation fan, generator, compressor, front-end loader, backhoe, grader, dozer,
and personal light-duty trucks.
1. Describe and locate any structures to be constructed (i.e. stockpiles, ponds, impoundments):
Please see attached page 11 for description under Heading III - Project Description, subheading 61.
J. Describe anticipated relationship to surface water and groundwater (proximity to streams, penetration of ground
water aquifers):
The Horse Draw Mine is located within Horse Draw which is tributary to Piceance Creek. Groundwater
a uifers will not be disturbed during project activities. An initial reconnaissance of the mine shaft
indicates the shaft is dry, therefore it is not anticipated that the mine will need to be dewatered during
the project.
IV. OPERATION AND RECLAMATION MEASURES:
1. The Board-suggests- that a photographic record of-the pre-prospecting and post=ptospeeft eonditions be kept by the
prospector. These photos should be taken from the same location and by the same method to clearly show the pre-prospecting
condition of the land and the reclamation efforts. Upon completion of reclamation and request for bond or surety release, the
Board may consider the photos as evidence of adequate reclamation, and thus, be able to act more quickly on the request for
release.
2. Provide a description of the native vegetation of the area to be disturbed, including tree, shrub, and grass communities of the
area. Color photographs, sufficient to adequately represent the ecology of the site and adequately labeled (including date,
orientation and location), may be used in lieu of a written description. Based on the quality of the photographs, the Division
may require additional detail.
The mine site is located within sagebrush parks and pinyon/juniper woodlands. Upland sagebrush is fairly
uniform within undisturbed areas adjacent to the mine site. Volunteer growth of Rabbitbrush is sparsely
scattered within the existinn disturbed area.
