Sherman
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS) Coal Program has forwarded your correspondence dated
April 28, 2009 to the DRMS Minerals Program regarding possible changes to the revegetation plans of the above
referenced permitted site. It is Minerals staff understanding that from time to time coal staff has discussed and
shared vegetation knowledge in an informal conversational way. While this is fine the submittal of a more formal
review request needs to be addressed through the proper permitting Division. This is based on numerous issues
including staff time and accounting for both divisions which are funded by separate means. We hope you
understand the need for this distinct and separate review.
Based on the forwarded correspondence it appears that operator needs to submit a Technical Revision (TR) to the
Minerals Division for changes in the reclamation plan. Please submit the TR to this office with the appropriate fee
of $216.00. Once received Minerals staff will be more than happy to review the proposed changes and discuss the
issues noted in the original correspondence.
If you need additional information please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Grand
Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, or by telephone no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely, n ?^
G.
