The electrical conductivity was measured at 3000 umhos/cm at the point where the water <br /> was entering the pond. The outflow from the pipe appeared clear and free of any significant <br /> suspended particles. <br /> r <br /> 4, l� <br /> I <br /> i <br /> e. <br /> The pond was filling from pumping that began from the new borehole location a few days <br /> prior to the inspection. Water was rising but was 10-12 inches below the discharge point <br /> prior to entering the Purgatoire River. <br /> A return visit on the next afternoon found Pond 001 discharging to the river. The operator <br /> planned to sample this discharge in accordance with their approved discharge permit issued <br /> by the Colorado Water Quality Control Division. <br /> Support Facilities <br /> A crew was onsite establishing steel grating on the East Portal in anticipation of breaching <br /> the mine seal in the future. This grating will provide security from unauthorized access to the <br /> mine once the temporary seals are breached. <br /> Demolition scrap and debris has been removed from the West Mine ventilation fan area <br /> (shown below) prior to implementing activities recently approved in Technical Revision No. <br /> 50 (TR-50). No other changes or modifications to the fan site or the two portals at the West <br /> Mine were noted. <br /> 4 <br />
